Charlotte FC, is dedicated to giving back to the community in which we live and work. Through the involvement of Charlotte players, coaches and staff, along with the support from our fans, we can make a positive impact in the community on and off the field.


The vision of Charlotte FC is to give the community the opportunity to be included within their city and their team. A fan base that is diverse and proudly encourages and supports Charlotte’s team to provide a positive atmosphere full of energy, passion, and excitement for all ages. We fully intend to have a public Supporters’ Trust for fans to own a share and have an official say in the team.


The future for Charlotte FC is bright with the support of its fans and the community. We not only intend to fill our championship cabinet with silverware, we intend to give Charlotte something to be truly proud of for many years to come. We are working on establishing grassroots partnerships with local cultural, civic, charitable, social, sporting and business groups to develop a club that reflects the city of Charlotte right.


Michael Filipidis

Michael Filipidis, founder of Charlotte FC, grew up in Valparaiso, IN. Michael will be part of an ownership group that will include a to be determined lead investor, the Charlotte FC supporters trust‎ and potentially additional local investors. Michael is a graduate of Purdue University and started his first company while studying business. As a student he started a real estate investment company and an online gaming website, while also helping to run a successful family owned restaurant with his father. Passionate about soccer, Michael has been a player, analyzed games and coached in the United States as well as in Greece. He has been an assistant coach for the past 3 summers for a village team, Apollon Volada, on the island of Karpathos in Greece building numerous relationships with coaches, and players throughout the country.


Brad Barnett

Born in Hopewell, VA, Brad holds a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool Management School. A sports enthusiast, he has been involved with soccer as a player and coach for over 25 years. He also created and hosted ESPN Charlotte’s “Second Yellow Soccer Show” in 2016 and continues to work to grow the game in the Charlotte community.

The biggest vision of Charlotte FC is to integrate fans into the club with a public supporters’ trust in the investment. “By giving our fans and the community ownership in our club, it gives them the right to have their voices heard.” Filipidis said. “We believe this is groundbreaking and an important way to integrate the fans and community into the support and governance of the club. This will be Charlottes’ team.”
